Generously proportioned fabric ring filled with polystyrene beads. The shape of the ring can be plumped around the swimmer to accommodate buoyancy and comfort issues. Can be worn by the swimmer who seeks a bit more confidence while in the water. Sizing: Item 9397L Inside circumference: 130cms Item 9397M Inside circumference: 95cms Item 9397S Inside circumference: 70cms Item 9397XS Inside circumference: 60cms Tips for measuring and determining the size of your swim ring: The person being measured should be relaxed, looking forward and standing up (or laying down) straight. Avoid taking a measurement if there is wriggling while being measured. Measurements should ideally be taken in swimming attire or undergarments – avoid wearing jumpers. DO NOT make allowances for clothes, braces etc. Use a flexible cloth measuring tape (can’t find a fabric tape measure? no problem -you can use some string and a ruler). Measure across the upper chest – arm pit to arm pit and around. Make sure the tape measure at the back is level with the tape measure at the front. Make sure the tape is flat against the skin without being too tight or too loose. Take a couple of measurements to check. Don’t be afraid to have someone assist you, to ensure the soft tape measure is positioned correctly and the measurement is accurate. By following these simple steps while taking underarm and upper chest measurements, you’ll be better equipped to select a well-fitted therapy swim ring. For the Swimmer with a Disability: The Aquafit Swim Ring offers substantial underarm support for the more disabled swimmer who wishes to engage in deep water running exercises. Also offers significant support for swimmers taking part in aquatic stroke rehabilitation programs. The ring provides all round support under the arms during hip strengthening exercises which stimulate muscle tone, coordination and pelvic stability. This swim ring can also be used in combination with the square float with saddle (Item 9396) to assist in maintaining an upright position. For the aquatic professional: The Aquafit Swim Ring is the best alternative when inflatable rings are either too small or aggravate the patient’s shoulders, cervical or thoracic spine. The velcro opening provides comfort and security for pain management techniques in vertical suspension as well as enabling water safety and neurological techniques to occur with the largest of body type. The Aquafit range of floats have been specifically designed for aquatic therapy and exercise. These floats are to be used under the supervision of a qualified professional. Aquafit floats are not to be regarded as a life preserver. Testimonial: We have been using Theraquatics disability swimming aids for many years now. My son loves them as they are soft, comfortable & easy for him to use in the pool. Such a pity you don’t have a Europe department, as there is no company in Europe which has products remotely like Theraquatics disability swimming aids. At least none that I have found, and I’ve searched alot of websites. Thanks again. C. Crowley (Ireland)
